Privacy policy
Written for app stores and for anyone who wants to know what stays on the phone. It covers the Grzybobranie AI app and this website.
As of 22 October 2026.
Recognition
Recognition is meant to run locally, on a model on the phone. A mushroom photo is not sent to an online recognition service. The test version does not include a calibrated model yet, so the scanner does not name a species.
What the app does not do
- It does not create an account and it does not ask for an email address.
- It has no online mushroom database that the app would query for cards.
- It does not upload photos or the journal to a cloud service of its own.
- It does not show ads and it does not use analytics.
What stays on the device
- Photos
- A photo from the scanner, the gallery, or the journal stays on the phone. The app uses the camera and, on iPhone, the photo library only to open that file on the device.
- Journal
- Entries (note, date, photo, place) are stored locally in the app. There is no sync between phones. On iPhone, system iCloud backup, when it is turned on, can include photos and the journal stored by the app. The app itself does not upload them to iCloud.
- Location
- A find’s place stays on the device when you choose to save a journal entry. The app does not track location in the background and does not send coordinates on its own. Coordinates leave the phone only after you tap “Open this spot in maps” in the journal: they go to the maps app that opens (Apple Maps on iPhone, the app that handles that link on Android, Google Maps in the browser).
Weather and maps
This version has no weather. That feature is planned.
If weather is enabled, only coordinates rounded to about 1 km may be sent to a weather API. The exact position stored in the journal is not sent for that.
The journal button opens the spot in an external maps app and passes the coordinates only then, as above. There is no map inside the app. If one is added, it will show OpenStreetMap data. That is a separate map service, not a store for photos or the journal.
This website
The site is static. It sets no cookies, it has no form, and it does not load fonts, analytics, or other scripts from elsewhere. GitHub Pages, which hosts the site, may keep ordinary server logs (IP address, browser, requested address). This site does not set those logs and does not read them.
